Suffer for His Name - Acts 9:16

Acts 9:16 (NIV)
16 I will show him how much he must suffer for my name.

Prayer: Father, we know you are pursuing with omnipotent delight a world-wide purpose of gathering a people for your name sake from every tribe and language and nation (Rev 5:9; 7:9). You have an inexhaustible enthusiasm for the fame of your name among the nations. Therefore we bring our affections in line with yours, and, for the sake of your name, we renounce the quest for worldly comforts and join your global purpose, your omnipotent commitment to your name is over us and we cannot lose, in spite of many tribulations (Acts 9:16; Rom 8:35-39) (modified from John Piper's "The Pleasures of God" p. 118-119). May _________ be willing to suffer for your name.
We pray in the name of our Great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, Amen.
